‘FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT’ – SOLAR ENERGY PROMOTION

Solar Energy Promotion :-

MISEREOR Sponsored monitored by ABCD Solar Energy Promotion Phase-I program is to capacitate every household in the operational area has the benefit of lighting in the post sunset hours.

Strategic Objectives:-

• By the end of project period 300 families adopt one solar product for domestic use.
• By the end of project period 2 solar growth centers are established to provide solar services in the area.

Responsibilities of SEP:-

• The Supervisor shall manage the solar activities in the district.
• Shall ensure the establishment and management of the growth centre.
• Responsible for manufacturing and sale of solar products.
• Plan with and review the extension work in the villages.
• Devise strategy of marketing through CBOs and also directly from the centre.
• Ensure the correct persons are chosen for the training to manufacture solar products.
• Ensure reporting to ABCD on a monthly basis.
• Work with the Project Coordinator for government liaising.
• Responsible for manufacturing and sale of solar products.
• Extension work in the villages.
• Work with CBOs to devise marketing strategy.
• Involve the community in selection of persons for training.
• Handholding support to the trained persons in marketing and sales of the solar products.
• Regular Reporting to Supervisor.

Achievement:-

• 2 Solar Growth centers established with 1 KW Solar power system with infrastructure where 9 technicians can work at a time.   
• 200 Household are using solar lanterns.
