Neighbour Hood Children’s Parliament:
In democracy the voice of the people ought to be respected and so the people should be provided with a platform to express their concerns, problems, aspirations, etc. Here, in order to heed the voice of the children, speaking forums are provided to them in the form of Neighbourhood Parliaments of Children in Chapra & Nakashipara Blocks under Nadia Districts of West Bengal.
Objectives:-
- Provide opportunity to children to participate in the governance.
- Provide platforms to the children to speak and to be heard.
- Provide the children with an opportunity to create a movement of their own to fight for their rights.
- Make children in the Neighbourhood active and responsible citizens motivated as regards their rights and the need for security.
- Enable the children to participate in governance.
- Provide an arena for children to involve in action responses.
Achievement:-
20 Children’s Parliaments are formed in 08 different Schools Participated in West Bengal State Level Neighbourhood Children’s Parliament and 04 Ministers (Annesha Singha Roy-Prime Minister, Aparna Das-Minister of Parliament Affairs, Sukanto Biswas-Minister for Good Health & Well being and Arpita Hazra-Minister for Disability care) 04 Deputy Ministers ( Farhana Khatun-Dy.Minister for Good Health & Well Being, Subhashis Halder-Dy. Minister Affordable & Clean Energy, Rakib Rahian-Dy. Minister for Economic Growth and Jyoti Halder-Dy. Minister for Peace & Justice ) being elected.
